The caspian tern is the largest bird of the tern family, in sri lanka. it lives mostly in and around the sandy islands in the adam’s bridge area between mannar and rameshwaram. it is also occasionally spotted in the wet zone. the caspian tern can be easily identified by its red beak. these birds frequently flock in small groups around lagoons and river mouths in the regions mentioned above. it seeks out little hollows on sand banks to lay its eggs . which are speckied in shades of grey and dark brown . it lays between 1-3 eggs at a time. the caspian tern is one of the most beautiful birds in the tern family.
