ANCIENT PEOPLE OF SRI LANKA

                                The   ancient   inhabitants   of   Sri  lanka   were   called    Veddhas.   They   lived   in   caves    in  the   forest.   They  did  not   farm   but   li ved  by  hunting  animals  and  collecting  fruit  and  huney from  the  forest.    they  lived  in  small  groups . they  had  their  own  customs  and  traditions.  they  selected   the  oldest  member  of  the  community  as  their  cheif .all  the  other  respected  and  obeyed  him.  uruwarige  tissahamy  was  a famous  veddha  chief.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

English   language    is   simple.    our  mother   language   is   not   english   language.   But  we   much   learn    english   language.   Beacause,   it  is   in   an   international   laguage.   English   language  is  asential  to   our   future.   we   learn   english   in   school   and  all  so  we  learn  english  under   Nikawewa   central     college.

THE ESALA PERAHERA

This   is  month   of   july.    It  is   the   month   of   the   esala   perahera   in   mahanuwara.     it  is  a   beautiful   perahera.  there  are   whippers.    There  are drummers.    There  are   dancers  and  There  are    flag   holders  and   there    tuskers.   we  go  to   took   the   perahera   in  july  every   year.

My grand father

My grand father   name  is   Mr:s  w.k.  gunapala.    he  is  69   years    old.   he   native  plase    in  matara.   He  address   is   jayamaha  vihara  para,pamburana,  matara.   My  grand  father  has   five   children.   he  have   seven   Brothers  and  sisters.    He   now   live   in   Moragollagama.    He  favorite   colour   is  green.    He    favorite   drink  is   water  and   favorite    sport   is   pancha  demeema.    He  birth  day  is   octomber   in  5.  he  is  very    onest  person  and   very  kind  man.   He   love   to   every  body.    we  are   love  to   our   grand  father.

I went on my first trip to colombo. I went with my parents. we went first to kelani temple.we  took  our  breakfast  at  kelani  temple.   second we  went  to  the  zoo.    we  watched lots of animals there. and also, we took our lunch at the zoo. we came to gold face at abouth five o’ clock. We flew Kites in gold face. we left From colombo at abouth six o’ clock. we are very enjoyed.

My school

Nikawewa dewanam piyathissa is my school. It’s a central school. Mr: S.B. Disanayaka is principal there. Mr. Gunasinha is vice principal.There are 1000 children in my school. There are 80 Teachers in my school. There are classes from 1 grade to 13. There is a library. There is athere is a large play ground and There are lab, Music room and Dancing room in our school. Our School is very beautiful. We have in SchoolDicipline, We learn in our school there for, I LOVE TO MY SCHOOL.

My village

My village is kiralabokkagama. it is small village in the kurunegala District. This is an agricultural area. Most of the villagers. There is a vast stretch of paddy fields in my village. farmers obtain water from the village tank for their cultivation purposes. There is a dispensary, a co-operative shop, a rural bank, a sub post office and a historical temple in my village. There are several government servants too here. There is a Rural development society and a Death donation society in my village. The villagers are very friendly. Villagers live happily and peacefully. I LOVE MY VILLAGE.

The INDEPENDENCE

Sri lanka has been able to boast of a history of thousands of years as and indetependent stape. We cound also be proud of a self sufficient economy and political autonomy. The Portuguese invaded our country in the year 1505. And the dutch began to meddle with our internal affars later we lost entire freedom as a sresult of britishers conquering the island in the year 1815. Lankans who where dissatisfieb of the british rule in the country rebelled for independence. But the rulers where heedless. As a result a great campaign was launched to rescued cur country from the ruthless britishers. F.R.senanayaka,d.s.senanayaka, d.b.jayathilaka,Arthur V.dias,Ven Battaramulla Subhuthi and piyadasa sirisena are some of the patriots who led this campaign. We obtained freedom from the British rule on 4 february,1948. Today we celebrate its golden jubilee. Sri lanka is a socialist, democratic republic now
